At the top of Saarua, nestled among timber, you'll discover a cozy panoramic restaurant and sauna. In our kitchen, we transform classic dishes into unforgettable experiences with a modern twist.
Relax with fine wines and crafted cocktails by the fireside or on our heated terrace. The sauna is always warm, and the outdoor pools invite you to refresh.
BASE the perfect setting for relaxation and special moments.
You can easily reach BASE with the scenic gondola, which runs directly
from the lower stations in Ruka Village and Ruka Valley to the top of Saarua.
A ride on the gondola is free with a valid lift pass.
However, if you don’t have an active Ruka lift pass, you can purchase a single ticket
for the gondola from here, the ticket machines or at the ticket sales points during their opening hours.
Please note that the gondola may be closed for safety reasons during strong winds
and thunderstorms. Find the latest gondola opening hours here.
There is no road access to the top. If the gondola is not in operation, you can also reach BASE on foot or by mountain bike.
You’ll also find our sister restaurant, CAMP Kitchen & Bar, at the lower gondola station in Ruka Valley.
